5.3 Bringing temporary works into use

The following temporary works inspection report template identifies when temporary works
should be inspected and ensures that an inspection has been undertaken. BS 5975-1:2024
clause 13.1.4 states that the temporary works implementation plan should identity how the
results of inspections should be communicated.
For scaffolding, a handover
inspection
report
may
supersede a generic temporary
works inspection report.
A checklist specific to the
temporary works should be
used to assist with identifying
key items to check. These
should be provided by the
manufacturer,
supplier
or
designer.

BS 5975-1:2024 clause 13.2.2.3 provides guidance on what should be confirmed in the permit
to bring into use. The following temporary works permit template provides a full description of
verification checks to be undertaken.
