5.3 Bringing temporary works into use
For complex or large
schemes, a permit may be
required to proceed to the
next stage.
For excavations, a permit
to break ground would
precede a permit to bring
into use and a permit to
enter may be required to
ensure additional safetyrelated controls are in
place. A proprietary winch
system, or tripod, may be
needed to be incorporated
into the design of a trench
support system.
For scaffolding, and other
access
equipment,
a
permit to work at height
may
be
required
in
additional to the permit to
use.
In some cases, a permit to
work in a public area may
also be required.
