5.5 Taking temporary works out of use
5.5.1
BS 5975-1:2024 clause 13.2.2.1 states that a permit to take out of use should only be issued
when the permanent works have been confirmed as complete or self-supporting by the site team
or permanent works designer, or other appropriate quality or building control inspector. Those
authorised to issue temporary works permits should be identified in the temporary works
implementation plan.

Where the temporary works is under the direct responsibility of the PC’s TWC or the
implementation risk class is high, the PC’s TWC should issue the temporary works permit.
5.5.3
BS 5975-1:2024 clause 13.2.2.2 states that the sequence of removing temporary works should
be identified in the temporary works implementation plan. The authorised person should carry
out a final recorded inspection.
5.5.4
